Fabrication of Welded Wire Containers for the Freightliner Industry

Modular Container Systems was contracted by a freight handling customer to design and fabricate a series of customer collapsible wire containers and returnable baskets. These specialized containers are used to house and protect products during shipping and storage.
Fabrication followed a brief design phase based on customer specifications and CAD drawings. We elected to use a combination of wire forming and welding processes to build the containers, along with secondary plating, painting, and stenciling. The collapsible wire container featured dimensions of 48" length, 40" width, and up to 24" in height, and the returnable basket featured dimensions of 72" length, 40" width, and 27" height. Both containers could hold up to 4000 lbs. Several thousand examples of these two products, in varying configurations, were delivered to the customer over the length of the project.
